Nightmare At The Sweet Dreams Inn is a zany murder-mystery comedy that takes you on a nostalgic jaunt through 90’s pop-culture. A wacky cast of characters is trapped together in a roadside motel on a dark and stormy night in 1996. The landline phones are cut, three people are murdered, the AOL CD-ROM internet disc is missing, and everyone is a suspect. Help Detective Sandiego figure out whodunit before Y2K gets us all. This play is all that and a bag of chips. BOOYAH!
Update on STC’s production of Nightmare at the Sweet Dreams Inn: A Totally 90s Murder Mystery (January 2022):
Taking into consideration rising infections which continue to impact in-person gatherings including live theater, the Springfield Theatre Centre Board of Directors has decided to change the format of our Annual Murder Mystery production, Nightmare at the Sweet Dreams Inn. The originally planned dinner and dessert will no longer be served at this event. Instead, we will proceed with this production in a traditional theater seating format. While we were looking forward to welcoming audiences back to our traditional murder mystery dinner show this year, this change will ensure we are keeping our audiences, cast members, and volunteers as safe as possible during these uncertain time.
The show will now be presented over two weekends instead of three, with added Sunday matinee performances. The show will run March 18-20 and 25-31, 2022 (showtimes 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays) Ticket prices have been lowered to traditional pricing for a full length play ($20 for adults and $18 for seniors and students). Current ticket holders will be contacted by the Hoogland Center for the Arts to discuss refund options.
We are also looking into other ways to make this murder mystery show a fun and exciting night of 90s inspired comedy and mystery. Stay tuned!
