Noises Off Auditions
Director: Adam Reisch
Stage Manager: Kristi Poggemiller
Set designer/builder: Mark Wheeler
Props: Melody Sheehan
Costumes: Stacy McIntyre
“Noises Off” is a play within a play! A mediocre theatre troupe rehearses a touring production of a romp comedy, Nothing On. Unfortunately, almost nothing is going right! As the drama continues both on and off stage, insanities mount and chaos begins to reign overall.
The three acts of “Noises Off” expose different phases of the disastrous show, Nothing On:
Act One – on stage during a dress rehearsal
Act Two – backstage during a matinee performance
Act Three – on stage during a delightfully ruined performance.

Character Descriptions (5M, 4F)
Lloyd Dallas (M, 40-60)
The director of Nothing On, the play-within-a-play. Temperamental, exacting & sarcastic. Involved romantically with both Brooke & Poppy.
Poppy Norton-Taylor (F, 25-35)
Assistant stage manager and understudy to the female roles. Emotional, skittish and overly-sensitive. Part of the Lloyd-Poppy-Brooke love triangle, and by act two is pregnant with Lloyd’s baby.
Tim Allgood (M, 30-50)
The overworked and easily flustered stage manager, who must understudy, fix the set and run Lloyd’s errands on top of his usual duties.
Dotty Otley (F, 50-70)
A middle-aged television star who is not only the top-billed star of but also one of the play’s principal investors. Dating the much younger Garry.
In Nothing On – portrays Mrs. Clackett (Cockney housekeeper for the Brent’s home. A hospitable, though slow-witted and slow-moving, chatterbox)
Garry Lejeune (M, 25-35)
The play’s leading man, a solid actor who is completely incapable of finishing a sentence unless it is pre-written dialogue. Constantly stutters and ends sentences in “you know…” Dating Dotty & prone to jealousy.
In Nothing On – portrays Roger Tramplemain (An estate agent looking to sublet Flavia & Philip Brent’s home)
Brooke Ashton (F, 20-30)
A young, inexperienced actress from London. She pays no attention to others, either in performance or backstage, and persists in her role as scripted regardless of any interruption or mayhem. She is always losing her contact lenses, without which she is blind. Part of the Lloyd-Poppy-Brooke love triangle.
In Nothing On – portrays Vicki (A girl Roger is attempting to seduce, or perhaps a girl trying to seduce Roger. Works for the tax authorities). NOTE: Actress must be comfortable wearing lingerie onstage for a majority of the show.
Frederick “Freddie” Fellowes (M, 35-45)
He has a serious fear of violence and blood, both of which give him nosebleeds. Well-meaning but lacks confidence and is rather dim witted.
In Nothing On – portrays both Philip Brent (lives out of the country with his wife Flavia to avoid paying taxed & is on a secret visit) AND Sheikh (interested in renting the house)
Belinda Blair (F, 35-45)
Cheerful & sensible, a reliable actress and the company’s de facto peacemaker. Something of a gossip, and a bit two-faced. She has a rather protective attitude toward Freddie.
In Nothing On – portrays Flavia Brent (Philip’s wife, she is dependable though not one for household duties)
Selsdon Mowbray (M, 50-70)
An elderly, half-deaf “pro” with a long, storied career and a drinking problem. If he is not in sight while rehearsing the stage crew must find him before he finds anything alcoholic.
In Nothing On – portrays the burglar (an old man in his 70s, breaking into the Brents’ home)
Bridges of Madison County Auditions
Based on the best-selling novel, and developed by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, Parade, Songs for a New World) and Pulitzer Prize winner Marsha Norman The Bridges of Madison County captures the lyrical expanse of America’s heartland along with the yearning entangled in the eternal question, “What if…?” Winner of the 2014 Tony Award for Best Score and Orchestrations, this sweeping romance about the roads we travel, the doors we open and the bridges we dare to cross will leave audiences breathless.
Francesca Johnson, a beautiful Italian woman who married an American soldier to flee war-ravaged Italy, looks forward to a rare four days alone on her Iowa farm when her family heads to the 1965 State Fair. When ruggedly handsome, National Geographic photographer, Robert Kincaid, pulls into her driveway seeking directions, though, what happens in those four days may very well alter the course of Francesca’s life.
With a soaring score and a heartbreaking story, The Bridges of Madison County is a touching and powerful addition to any theatre’s season. The tour de force roles of Francesca and Robert are a dream come true for any actor, while the ensemble is rich with characters who tell their own individual stories and receive plenty of focus on stage.
