SYPNOSIS

Two elderly ladies, two front stoops, and two acts of comedy as playwright Ken Bradbury premiers his new play, Stoops, at the Hoogland. “I’m tired of older people being stereotyped,” says Bradbury. “The ones I know…the one I hope to become…are individuals…feisty, outrageous and funny.” Two of Springfield’s grande dames of the theatre, Felicia Coulter, and Mary Beth Maloney, star in the world premier of the Bradbury comedy. Also featured in the cast are Jim and Brenda Yale, Michael Coulter, and Haley Londrigan. The show will also be presented by an Arizona theatre later this summer and a portion of that cast will be flying in to Springfield to view our local production.

Bradbury last came to the Hoogland with From Behind the Curtain, a musical with co-writer Roger Wainwright, and two seasons ago the Hoogland featured his The Spirit of Lincoln. He’s also the co-author of Abraham and Distant Thunder which played at Lincoln’s New Salem for fourteen seasons.
