HERITAGE is a presentational style play, spanning from the late 1790’s
to the 1860’s, sharing the stories of the women that may have influenced the
life and soul of Abraham Lincoln. 8 females & 3 males (see below for role breakdown)
Four narrators, 3 females and 1 male, various ages, share the stage and
assume various roles. Singing songs and square dancing will be done by all actors. Other roles include: 5 females roles, ranging in age from 18 to 50’s to
play Lucy Hanks, Nancy Hanks (soloist), Sarah Bush Johnston, Ann Rutledge
(soloist) and Mary Todd Lincoln; 2 male roles, ranging in age from 35 to 50’s
to play Tom Lincoln, and Ninian/Bachleor/Narrator.
Mark Mathewson will provide original music and songs from the time
period.
Actors must prepare a short 30 second song. Cold readings.
